There’s Something about Dominique

The facts aren’t all in yet, but let’s see if we can understand this so far.

The managing director of the International Monetary Fund, ex-finance minister of France and soon to declare his candidacy for the presidency of France, emerges naked from his luxury hotel bathroom, discovers a female hotel worker in his suite, sexually assaults her twice, then hastily leaves to catch an Air France flight to Paris from which police remove him before takeoff, and arrest him on charges of a criminal sex act, attempted rape and unlawful imprisonment.  http://tinyurl.com/3es4x4h

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, 62, one of the most successful leaders of the IMF during the recent financial global meltdown, admitted to an affair two years ago. He apologized to the IMF board and to his wife for his error in judgment. In light of this recent episode, his affair was just typically French.

What is it about political and financial power that causes men in public positions to abandon their sense of reason and go for the quickie? Do they think their sexual appetite is equally shared by woman by virtue of their power?

Viagra is useful when you’re 62, but not when you’re trying to catch your flight. If you don’t need Viagra, you may need a hearing aid to help you hear the word NO. If you don’t understand the word NO, and the cops have DNA evidence against you, it would be wise to give up your political ambitions.

If it weren’t so sad, it would be material for a Saturday Night Live skit.
