The Poor Little Rich Girl’s Wedding

The bride-to-be lives in Singapore with her wealthy boyfriend. Before he proposed marriage, she earned $30,000 a year. With no college degree and minimum professional skills, there was little chance that she would ever earn more.

However, her wedding fantasy, the one she’s had ever since she got the Barbie doll with all the wedding outfits when she was five years old, is alive and pulsing. Her biggest challenge was finding a Ken who could give her the wedding she craved.

The wedding will be held in the Napa Valley next month. The 200 invited guests will stay for the three-day event at a wine country hotel. They are expected to pay for their airfare if flying in. All will have to pay for their hotel stay which has a three-night minimum.

The bride-to-be flies in regularly from Singapore to taste the recipes for the wedding reception. The former fast food addict has now become a haute cuisine connoisseur.

Her family and friends knew her before she was rich, when she couldn’t save enough to attend even one night in the Wine Country. The bride-to-be is disappointed that, so far, she’s only received 50 reservation confirmations.

Why should the poor little rich girl’s wedding cost her guests $1,000 each?
